The Human Evolutionary and Reproductive Ecology group conducts research on human reproductive ecology, aging, evolutionary demography and mate choice. We believe that the evolutionary approach allows for a truly comprehensive understanding of different aspects of human biology and behavior, and that results of studies based on evolutionary theories could benefit human health and should be considered in disease prevention programs. We work with the rural population at Mogielica Human Ecology Study Site in southern Poland where for almost 15 years we have been collecting longitudinal data from children, parents and grandparents.
